What is the purpose of the GAMS?

The GAMS was designed to reach the mountaintop by foot but going down by riding it. Difficult single trails can as well be done as fast downhills.

Is there any danger by riding the GAMS?

In contrast to the MTB, the absence of the top tube makes it easy to jump off the GAMS quickly. Thus riding difficult sections can be done easily. All the more because the challenge to test one’s riding skills or making driving experiments without the risk of falling is easy to try.

In case of an accident, what does the GAMS contribute to the security of its user?

In case of a crash, the GAMS will stay in place and fall over without clinging to the driver. Additionally the back protector and the obligatory helmet are basic equipment in case of a crash. The principle is: "Safety first!"

Isn’t it to heavy?

The ergonomic design of the backpack minimizes leverage forces. The folded GAMS has a low center gravity and its overall mass is evenly distributed to the carrier. Because of this you won’t feel the total weight so much. Additionally, adjustable straps and a waist belt made of neoprene make the adjustment very easy.

Why should I take up some more weight on my back?

Apart from the fun of riding downhill and needlessness of going downhill, the aspects of comfort and weight should be considered separately: The specifically designed backpack by EVOC offers high comfort by involving actual ergonomic results. Of course, the weight is the same, but this extra weight increases the cardiovascular load and increases the training effect, which is similar to physical demands of mountain biking or ski touring. Moreover, the back muscles get stronger and the trunk muscles get stabilized.

Why are the footplates shifted?

On the downhill a longitudinal stability is very important. Because of the offset position of the feet the GAMSer is better stabilized and there is no need to push the handlebars. This position is particular important on steep terrain, as it offers a higher driving safety as well as quality and much more fun.

Can I also stay Goofy (right foot forward)?

Experience shows that Goofy riders feel unfamiliar only on the first meters. Usually, the riders adjust very quickly, as riding the GAMS is a new driving experience anyway.

What justifies a price of € 1.440, -?

The GAMS was designed for the use in the mountain and therefore has to meet specific quality and safety requirements. On the one hand, only high quality materials and components are used. On the other hand the GAMS is a masterpiece and state of the art. The smart folding mechanism follows the need of high stability. In contrast to a bike, the GAMS has is no triangle principle of the tubes to stabilize itself. Additionally, the GAMS has double security features (redundancy in the folding mechanisms and the handlebars) for unlimited use. Furthermore, the backpack with its protector can be used for other sports as well.

Is it difficult to fold the GAMS and to adapt it to a chair?

Folding, stowing and preparing the GAMS to a chair is very simple. The right order of the various steps is important. We recommend to try the setting a few times before the first tour. With the help of the user’s manual it is very easy. Within three repetitions the adaptation can be done in a minute.

Are there any no go’s?

Riding with the GAMS on public roads is not recommended. Off road there are no boundaries. Most probably, limits will only be set by the riders themselves, as GAMS allows to master steep slopes, single trails and even jumps.

Does the GAMS need any special care?

No special needs have to be done. After using the GAMS, simply fold it, fix it and then put it into the carrier. It doesn’t need much space for the storage. The backpack can be separated from the GAMS, and thus can be used independently.

Why do you stand on the GAMS in step position? Isn’t it difficult?

The step position offers physiological advantages enabling an intuitive position when riding. It is much more easy to stand in step position, as it allows to bend your upper body forward or backward with the support of your legs. In this way, it is easier to absorb bumps with your knees and to use as well a control the tension of your muscles. Due to the fact that there is almost no need of any static supporting work of spine, joints and muscles, they won’t fatigue so early. Active muscle tension (including concentric and eccentric muscle action) can be realized.
